Applications are invited for filling the post of Engineer and ship surveyor cum Deputy General (Technical) in Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping.

Age limit: Not exceeding 50yrs and 55yrs for ST, 53YRS for other backward classes.

Payscale: 15,600-39,100 with Grade pay Rs 7,600/-.

Essential Qualification: Certificate of competency of Marine Engineer officer class-I as specified in section 78 of the Merchant shipping Act-1958.

Experience: 5yrs Service at sea of which 1yr service as chief engineer or second engineer.

Duties to perform: Work in connection with survey and inspection of machinery boiler and other mechanized equipments and performance of other statutory duties under M.S Act 1958 and Indian stem vessels Act, 1917.

A competitive examination for recruitment the Geologists Examination, 2013 through Union Public Service Commission (UPSC):

Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines:

  1. Geologist, Group “A”: 50 Posts
  2. Assistant Geologist Grade-I: 25 Posts

Qualifications: i). Masters degree in Geological Science or Geology or Applied Geology or Geo-Exploration or Mineral Exploration or Engineering Geology or Marine Geology or Earth Science and Resource Management or Oceanography and Coastal Areas Studies or Petroleum Geosciences or Petroleum Exploration or Geochemistry or Geological Technology or Geophysical Technology from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or an educational institution established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed university under section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (3 of 1956) Note : Master’s degree in respective discipline means the post graduate degree or post graduate diploma of minimum two years duration after graduation from aforesaid University or Institute in the respective discipline, whether be it an integrated course or otherwise. ii). Candidates who have appeared at the final examinations of the minimum educational qualification specified in clause (a) of this paragraph, passing of which shall render them eligible to appear at the relevant year Examination, but have not been informed of the result, may also apply for admission to the Examination and in such case his or her admission to the relevant year Examination shall be provisional and subject to obtaining minimum educational qualification specified in clause (a) of this paragraph. iii). A candidate who is otherwise qualified but who possesses the Master’s degree specified in clause (a) of this paragraph from a foreign University approved by the Government may also be admitted to the Examination by the Commission.

Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources:

Qualifications: i). Masters degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational Institutes established by an act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as Universities under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956; or ii). Masters degree in Hydrogeology from a recognised university.

Fee: Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST/ PH who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred Only) either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur / State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa / Master Credit / Debit Card.

Applications are invited for combined competitive examination for recruitment the Indian Economic Service / Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2013 through Union Public Service Commission (UPSC):

Indian Economic Service: 30 Posts

Qualifications: 
A candidate for the Indian Economic Service must have obtained a Post-graduate degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/ Econometrics and a candidate for the Indian Statistical Service must have obtained a Post-Graduate degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/ Applied Statistics from a University incorporated by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutes established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or a foreign university approved by the Central Govt. from time to time.

Age Limits: A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on 1st August, 2013.

Fee: Rs. 200/- either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur / State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/ State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card. All female candidates and candidates belonging SC /ST and physically disabled candidates are not required to pay any fee.

Scheme of Examination: The examination shall be conducted according to the following Plan:
